Randal Roat to Oversee MMP Radiology Specialty Committee – 12/18/2007
ATLANTA, GA December 15, 2007 - Randal Roat, Vice President of Radiology Services for Medical Management Professionals Inc. (MMP), has been named chairman of the company’s Radiology Specialty Committee. It is one of MMP’s Specialty Task Groups formed to enhance practice management solutions and help medical practices operate more efficiently and profitably.
Roat will spearhead the efforts of the committee, and focus on four key areas for the company: new product development, advanced education for account managers, client support and new business initiatives.
“Having served on various Boards and in leadership roles for a number of radiology and medical management associations, Randal is well aware of the latest management solutions for radiology offices,” said G. Darrell Hulsey, President and CEO of MMP. “His focus on research and training helps us understand radiologists’ needs, allowing us to roll out innovative new services and grow their bottom line.”
A Certified Healthcare Billing and Management Executive (CHBME), Roat serves on the Data Committee of the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA), and has served as President of Radiology Business Managers of Michigan (RBMM), an affiliate chapter of RBMA. He is President-elect of the HealthCare Billing and Management Association (HBMA), and has previously served as its Secretary and National Director, and as Chairman of its Government Relations Committee. Roat specializes in software development, radiology practice management and radiology revenue cycle management. He has evaluated more than 500 radiology practices, helping establish national and regional benchmarks for revenue and productivity. He is the former Vice President and Chairman of the Board of The TriMed Group, a medical management firm acquired by MMP in 2006.
